PROK Brazil is set to officially launch its brand-new facility dedicated to HDPE roller production and recycling. This expansion marks a significant investment in the region and it says reinforces PROK’s commitment to advancing the industry through innovation and sustainability.

PROK will host an official opening event for the facility which will provide customers with valuable insight into the technology, manufacturing process, and sustainability initiatives behind the new dedicated facility.

“Customers will experience firsthand the benefits of HDPE rollers and learn about our recycling process – an essential step toward achieving important ESG outcomes,” said David Reis, PROK General Manager Latin America. “Developing a circular economy requires close collaboration with customers to define and implement reverse logistics, and this event creates a significant opportunity to start that journey together.”

Located within the PROK Brazil site in Vespasiano, the new warehouse is designed to support both the production of lightweight HDPE rollers and the recycling of end-of-life rollers returned from customer operations. The space enables increased local manufacturing capacity, faster regional supply and delivery, expanded recycling capability, and the opportunity for large-scale HDPE roller production.

Additionally, the facility enables PROK to carry out in-house research and development to evolve the design and performance of HDPE tubes. This capability will have a direct impact on the quality and innovation of rollers supplied to customers, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with industry needs.

HDPE rollers PROK says offer several advantages over steel, including a 35-45% weight reduction, improved operational safety, fire-resistant performance (UL94-V0), reduced noise levels during operation, and are non-corrosive and non-magnetic.

Through PROK Brazil’s new recycling program, customers can return used HDPE rollers to the factory to be reprocessed into new ones, each containing 17% recycled material. This supports circular manufacturing, a reduction in raw material consumption, and a positive environmental impact with an estimated annual reduction of 42,431 kg CO2e.

This sustainability program also benefits PROK customers. Those who participate by returning PROK HDPE rollers will receive a discount on new HDPE replacements, along with a certified carbon-reduction document that can be used as evidence in ESG and sustainability reporting.

“The opening of this facility strengthens PROK’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and our customers, marking an important step in supporting the future of safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible conveyor operations across the industry,” added Reis.
