It’s not every day that you hear about an Ivy League tech prodigy going full John Wick at a Manhattan hotel.
But here we are.
Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old real estate heir and Ivy League graduate, is now facing a laundry list of charges for allegedly assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
And to really drive home the cinematic flair of it all, Mangione fled the scene on a bicycle, only to be caught five days later at the least dramatic hideout imaginable — a McDonald’s in Altoona, PA.
Somewhere, a screenwriter is furiously taking notes.
When police arrested Mangione, he was carrying a 3D-printed “ghost gun,” $8,000 in cash, fake IDs, and a manifesto that reads like a rejected Unabomber sequel.
You’d think a guy with a resume boasting Ivy League credentials and tech leadership would channel his frustrations into a TED Talk, not terrorism.
But alas, chronic back pain and disillusionment with corporate greed apparently redirected him to a darker career path.
It is quite absurd and the more you dig in, the more disturbing it gets.
